C. Austin Reams
Austin Reams was born in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and grew up in Oklahoma City, Edmond, Ada, and Durant. His great-grandfather ran in the Oklahoma land run in Alfalfa County, staking wheat farms passed down to Austin and his family to the present day.
After completing home school, Austin earned a Bachlor of Arts from Oklahoma State University in Russian Language and Liturature, and attended graduate language studies in Moscow, Russia. Upon retruning, he taught Russian Language and Algebra at John Marshall High School in Oklahoma City.
He continued his graduate studies at Boston University, completing a master's degree in International Relations, and thereafter worked as a political analyst and program administrator on collaborative nuclear non-proliferation programs between Russian and American scientists at Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico.
While completing his law degree at Oklahoma City University School of Law, Austin worked at a consultant to the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna, Austria.
Graduating with honors, Austin passed the California Bar Examination, and continued as a judicial clerk for his first two years out of law school, preparing law and motion memoranda and briefing judges on findings, at the Superior Court of Santa Clara County in San Jose California.
Throughout his more than 12 years of experience practing law, Austin has represented a number of corporations, including Chevron, The Dow Chemical Company, Texaco, Kohl's Department Stores, Cozzini, Cintas, Weslake Hardware, Interurban, Mor Furniture for Less, and others.
Austin has handled insurance bad faith claims, arising out of supplemental cancer insurance policies, brought by school teachers, against Americal Fidelity Assurance Company and American Public Life, filed in Oklahoma courts. He has also handled many lawsuits involving product, premises, wrongful death, commercial, false imprisonment, dram shop, and automobile accident issues.
Austin is experienced handling land use issues arising out of oil and gas exploration and mineral easements, including negotiating with oil companies on pipeline and electric easements, well hook ups, and other mineral law matters.
